Our Story

Back in 2003, Association Mirleft Surf was born from a group of locals’ shared dream: to teach the kids of Mirleft, Morocco how to surf—and in doing so, inspire respect for the ocean and a sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves.

For years, these passionate volunteers poured their hearts into every wave caught and every lesson taught. Though the association’s activity eventually slowed, the spirit remained alive, waiting for the right moment.

Then, in 2024, that moment came.

With more hands, hearts, and resources, we’ve reignited Association Mirleft Surf—and we’re doing more than ever before. Alongside free surf lessons, we’ve added skateboarding to the mix, thanks to generous donors who helped build the town’s very first skatepark and stocked it with boards and safety gear for local youth.

It’s all 100% free for the kids. No barriers. No limits. Just waves, wheels, and a community that believes in the power of play, purpose, and the ocean.

We run entirely on donations—from time, money, and gear. Whether you’re near or far, your support helps keep this movement alive and the community growing.
